Welcome to CA - SBC!

The CA stands for Chartered Accountants (the generous sponsors that keep the game going!) and the SBC stands for the Sprott Business Competition.

This FREE competition, sponsored by the
Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO), allows students to make a variety of senior management decisions for a virtual firm in a virtual industry. In essence, students in teams of up to four members run their own business online while competing against teams from other schools.  The object of the game? Make the most money by making the right business decisions!

NEW Student Mailing List:

  • Students can now opt-in to receive communications emails directly from CA - SBC, instead of having to rely on their teachers to pass on important updates.
  • Students opt-in via their team login area on the “Get it NOW!” page. Teachers must verify all students via their teacher login area.

Benefits of CA-SBC:

  • CA - SBC is FREE!
  • CA - SBC is entirely web based! There is nothing to download.  Students and teachers can access the competition from any internet-connected device.
  • CA - SBC is an entertaining and engaging way to enhance course material in a wide range of classes.
  • CA - SBC allows students to see how classroom theory can be applied in a business environment.
  • CA - SBC provides a fun, safe, and encouraging environment for student learning.
  • CA - SBC promotes team spirit and problem solving.
  • CA - SBC is open to all high school students.
  • There are two levels of play: Classic is recommended for grades 9-11 and Xtreme, a more advanced version, is recommended for grade 12.
  • Most importantly, CA provides *CASH PRIZES to the members of CA - SBC championship teams as well as to their school's business department! Winning teams will also be invited to attend an awards ceremony, hosted by Carleton University's Sprott School of Business.
