With week 2 nearing the close, CA-SBC would like to remind everyone of the in-depth Tips and Strategies resources that is listed under the ‘Info’ section. There is also a Terminology section that clarifies many of the terms found throughout the system and within the Tips pages. Both these resources can be very valuable when developing strategies and planning inputs, so please make use of them.

THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the CA-SBC student practice rounds. We hope you had a chance to get a feel for the game and learn how the inputs page works. We look forward to seeing you all in the main competition!
CA-SBC Winter 2010 Main Competition opens Wednesday, February 24th. The first input is due by Friday, February 26th at 4pm ET.

Thank You to all those registered for CA-SBC Winter 2010! You have helped us surpass our goal for this term of 5,000 participants by more than 1,800 students!
Class/team registration is now closed for this term's competition. If you missed the deadline, we hope you can join us next academic year! Teacher account registration is STILL OPEN! If you do not have one, you can create an account to ensure you receive participation invitations and reminder emails for future competitions. Visit the Register page for details.

Welcome to CA - SBC!
The CA - Sprott Business Competition Winter 2010 Practice Rounds has are now open for both teachers and students! Teams can login to their accounts to begin submitting inputs and exploring their "company's" analysis pages
We would like to remind all student teams that inputs are due Tuesdays and Fridays at 4pmET for this practice round. The first input is due Tuesday February 9th at 4pmET and the final input for this practice round will be due Friday February 19th at 4pmET. Teacher Practice rounds will end on Friday, February 12th.

Unfortunately due to an error, we have had to delay the start of these practice rounds until Monday, February 8th. The teacher practice round will run concurrent with the first week of the student practice rounds. Teachers who had registered to participate in these practice rounds by Wednesday, February 3rd will be eligible to participate.
Inputs will be due, Tuesday, February 9th and Friday, February 12th at 4pm ET.
We apologize for the confusion and any inconvenience. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

| New Teacher Accounts |

CA - SBC would like to remind teachers who have participated in the past that they DO NOT have to create a new CA - SBC teacher account to participate in CA - SBC Winter 2010. Teachers who have registered an account in the past may use the same account to register their classes for CA - SBC Winter 2010 and thus do not need the registration code.
If you have an account, but do not remember your login information, please use the forgot password link on the login page or send us an email at sbc@sprott.carleton.ca. If your email, other contact information, or even school information has changed since you last participated, you can still use the same account. You can login to your account to update your information or email CA - SBC and we will assist you with this process.
New teachers to CA - SBC must create a teacher account and DO need the registation code. To request the registration code, please contact CA - SBC via the code request page of the website.

The Story of the Return of SBC!!!
Under several hats over the years, HSBC, SBC, and now CA - SBC, the Sprott School of Business has offered a business simulation competition as a free teaching resource for high schools. Sprott has been a proud developer and coordinator of the competition, and has valued the opportunity to introduce important business concepts to high school students through interaction and simulation. Unfortunately, due to a lack of financial resources, Sprott was unable to provide this competition last year.
However... ...
With IMMENSE thanks to our new sponsor, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (CA), SBC is BACK! The competition will take place in the new year between January and April. Please stay tuned to the CA - SBC website for news and updates as they become available. We hope you will join us in the new year for our celebrated return as the CA - Sprott Business Competition!
